My 33 year old unemployed son lives with us. Does his 1095 A get reported separately, or on my 1040? He has NO income. Is his Obama care credit based on MY income?

If you are claiming him as a dependent, his 1095-A form gets reported on your income tax return. If he took the monthly Premium Tax Credit, to help pay for his health insurance premiums, that would be reflected on your income tax return. If your income is too high for the Premium Tax Credit, you will have to repay it. It will result in a lower refund or additional tax you owe. No, premium tax credits are only available for the taxpayer who claims the personal exemption for the dependent. If a child or relative is eligible to be someone else’s dependent, they cannot claim their own personal exemption and therefore, they cannot receive premium tax credits on their own.
