My 2018 1040 has my Adjusted Gross Income just slightly less than my wages from my W-2. Is that correct?

Sure. That's why it's called "adjusted" gross income.

We won't know if it's correct or not.  It will depend on what adjustments there were for the "adjusted" part and whether or not you had any other income other than W-2.   Here's how to preview your Form 1040 and Schedules 1-6.    The Schedule 1 should give you a clue as to what your adjustments are.

  • With your return open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then TOOLS.
  • Then at the Tools screen click on "View Tax Summary."
  • At the Tax Summary screen go back to the left menu column and click "Preview My 1040."
  • That will open the Form 1040 Worksheet and Schedules 1-6.

See if you have any adjustments on Schedule 1.  Here's what a blank Schedule 1 looks like:

The Schedule 1 shown in TurboTax will look somewhat different since it is actually a worksheet.  But you should still be able to tell.
