My 17yr child worked 3 months in 2016 total wages 1286.45 does she need to file separate from us - we claim her as a dependent and she still lives with us.

She does not need to file a return until her earned income reaches $6,300.  You do not include her W-2 in your return.  If she paid any federal or state income tax, she can file a free return to get those refunded.
