My 1099INT for PENFED Credit Union does not have a State ID number - turbo is asking for one before I can file my return?

It is the federal employer identification number that must be included on every information return according to the Internal Revenue Service.  

However, the TurboTax program will require you to enter a state number. Either you can enter the federal identification number (in the state's format), or you can create one and include any spaces or hyphens when applicable (e.g. CA 80486884 or in this format CA 000-0000-0)  This should allow you to continue completing your tax return.
