Must I have the Premier version of TurboTax to import K-1 data or can I do it with the Deluxe version as I have for the past several years?

I've been told in past that I had to have Premier version if I had K-1s or any sales of stocks that I wanted to import directly.  That was wrong; could do it with any cd/dvd version but now I don't seem to have the option to import k-1 or stock sales using the Deluxe cd/dvd version.  Is Premier now the only individual tax return version that will import those transactions?

You do need Premier (or Home & Business) to import K-1s into TurboTax Desktop or Online.  Since Deluxe does not handle K-1s, you will have to manually enter (under Business Items) your K-1 and you must be using TurboTax Deluxe (or Basic) Desktop versions in order to manually enter a K-1.

You can, however, import your 1099-B statement for stock sales using Deluxe (Desktop or Online).  Look under Wages and Income and import your brokerage statement by click start next to 'Investment Income'.   You will be able to import if your institution is on the list.

I think you can only import K-1 if you can get a .txf file of it.  And it shouldn't matter what Desktop version you have.  If you can import a 1099B to deluxe you can import other files too.  You only need Premier or higher to import into the Online versions.
