Multiple w2c with empty box 1, how to submit online

Hi,

I received two W2c or corrected w2 from my employer, having only box 12, with code W value changed from $xx and $yy to $0. Turbotax wouldn't let me submit the tax online because w2c box 1 is empty. I have multiple options:

1. Recommended by turbo tax support, but I am not convinced: subtract $xx and $yy from the original w2 (that would bring down total col 12 W to ZERO, which is technically accurate as I didn't contribute to HSA. But I have reservations as the original W2 has $ value in it. It might trigger something from IRS, even though the combined amount is less than $500.

2. File tax online with the original w2 and later submit an amendment with both W2c. Since the original W2 has box 12 W (HSA contribution) need to make some changes in TurboTax with help from the agent.

3. File everything via postal mail - more hassle and have to file for an extension, this will have less visibility into tax submission and acceptance

4. Any other option or alternative

No, the melding of the W2c and original W2 will not trigger anything with the IRS as this is exactly what happens in their records when they receive a W2c.  You need to use the W2c to correct the amounts on the original W2 you received and entered.  Then you can e-file if you are not reporting any other items that disallow the e-file function.
