Mn sent me an adjusted return of 255 dollars vs the 1518 that I was supposed to get. They adjusted for my gross income even though I made the majority of it in iowa?

Did you file part year resident returns in both states?

You should have filed part-year resident returns in both states.  I will leave the amending instructions below.  On the Federal return, you should have indicated that you live in IA but also that you moved from MN on June 1, 2018.  Then you will allocate your income between states on your state returns.

MN - Income received while a resident of Minnesota or from Minnesota sources is computed and divided by federal AGI. Tax is figured on total income, then the percentage is applied to the tax amount.

IA - Iowa net income includes income received while a resident of Iowa and any Iowa-source income received while a nonresident.
