Misc. Non Taxable Comp.

I have a W2 that does not have anything in any of the boxes but lists compensation (greater than $600.00) I received as an Election Polling Clerk. It is listed as Misc. Non Taxable Comp. and states the Reported W-2 Wages as 0.00. Where and/or how do I enter this in my tax return, if at all?

According to this excerpt from an IRS article on compensation paid to election workers, the income you received may be taxable for federal income tax purposes:

It depends. Generally, income from being an Election Polling Clerk would be taxable if you were one of the people working at an election site during an election. If this applies to your work, report the income using the steps below and do not enter a W-2.  If you did enter a W-2, you can delete it by selecting the correct link next:

  • You'll need to delete this form --------------------.
    • If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here.
    • If you're using TurboTax Desktop software and need to delete a form, click here.

Other Miscellaneous Income:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax Online account
  2. Go to Tax Home (left panel)  Wages and Income  section
  3. Scroll to  Less Common Income > Select  Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  4. Select Other reportable Income > Enter a description (----) and the amount

Thank you for your reply but you began your reply with "It depends". Could be more specific on what it depends on and what does "Misc. Non Taxable Comp." actually mean? It sounds like you're telling me that "Non Taxable" doesn't actually mean "Non Taxable". If this is Taxable Income, why would it be listed as Non Taxable?

Also there are other questions similar to mine that I found on the "Community" that seems to suggest that I don't need to enter anything from my W-2 (which has nothing in the boxes) but that I only need to keep it with my tax records. This is all very confusing as I seem to be finding conflicting information.
