Medical Insurance : California Mandatory

Hi,

I have lost my job ended on May 31st and got a new job starting end of June and my previous employer gave me COBRA option (costing me 2100 per month), if I do not take medical insurance for month of June and start my insurance again with new employer from July 1, will it be legally fine in California or will it add any bad remarks in my history or will I be charged any penalty while filing taxes next year?

and some has any suggestions for cheaper insurance options, pls suggest too.

Thanks!

You can have a 3 month gap in insurance coverage so you will have no penalty. Covered California has good rates.
