Max protection not selected for this 2016 tax year, but last year's 2015 coverage remains in effect as long as it is auditable?

Thank you laurap1028. I asked this question because TurboTax wording when declining Max coverage for this, 2016 return, said "Cancel" Max coverage, rather than "Decline" for present year. I think the wording was deceptive.
