Married Filing Jointly - I was on H1B in 2017 and my wife's status changed from F1 to H1B in 2017

Married Filing Jointly - I was on H1B in 2017 and my wife's status changed from F1 to H1B in 2017, can we file jointly?. Because my wife is exempt from FICA, I'm not sure if it's recommended to file jointly for 2017, because Turbotax shows we owe money

We have the same question. Husband on H1B for 2018 and wife changed status from F1 to H1B in October 2018. Whats the best approach to file taxes in this case?
