Live in WV but teleworks in D.C

My husband lives in WV but works teleworks in a D.C branch. Does he need to withhold both state taxes or can he only withhold from the home state in WV?

Hi KryLom,

I hope you are having a great day!  Good news for you is that WV and DC have a reciprocal agreement with each other.  As a worker in a reciprocal state, you can fill out that state's exemption form and give it to your employer if you don't want them to withhold taxes for your work state. If you do this, make sure your employer also withholds taxes for your resident state, WV.

Here is the Form D-4A to submit to your employer to not have DC tax withheld,

I hope this information is helpful!
