late K-1 - question as to what to do

I'm hoping someone can help.

I am expecting a K-1 but it is late, I don't think I'll get it in time to file today. It likely will show about 2k income.

I am also needing to file a 2210 as I didn't withhold enough last year, so I really need to file today.

Suggestions? Should I take a guess at the 2210 numbers and amend it later? Leave the 2210 out altogether and file an amended return later? I want to avoid filing for an extension as that will only add to the penalty on the 2210, but right now I don't see any good options.

Thanks for any ideas.

You can enter your K-1 yourself and just estimate the amount. Then later when you get the (late) k-1 you're waiting for, do an update/amended return.

For the 2210, you won't have to guess since you know it's about $2000 for the k-1 you are waiting on just use that amount or  your closest guess.

If you wait, they'll really sock it to you on the fees.

Good luck!

Thanks. That's good advice, assuming I don't receive the K-1 today that's what I'll do.
