Last year my return was rejected because someone already filed using my wife's name and SSN. I filed via paper. Heard nothing from IRS. How do I resolve?

I am on the IRS.gov site and nothing in my history/profile looks unusual.  If I have to keep mailing in my returns, wondering why I'm paying Turbotax any more.  zero help.

Did you report the identity theft to the IRS?  If not then you should apply for a Identity Protection PIN which the IRS will send to you each year to be used on your tax return - https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/get-an-identity-protection-pin

You can still e-file the 2022 tax return and it would only be rejected if the IRS has already received a tax return with the same Social Security number as is on your return.  Then you would have to print and mail your tax return.

Also, using the TurboTax online editions there are no e-file fees, federal or state.  The TurboTax account fees are for the use of the software to assist in completing a tax return.  The account fees are the same whether the tax return is e-filed or printed for mailing.
