Last year I had additional income just like this year and now they claim I have to use schedule 1 form Why?

Schedule 1 is a new form for 2018.  The IRS completely revised the 1040 form in 2018.  The 1040 form is much shorter and there is no longer a 1040A or 1040EZ form.  The line items that used to be reported on the 1040 form have now been moved to six additional schedules (Schedules 1 - 6).  Therefore, to add any of these additional forms to the return, an upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe is required.
