L1-B Non-Resident Alien

Hi,

My wife has an L1-B (No ITIN or SSN) but she lives abroad, works for a foreign company and only stayed in US for a total of ~2months. In that time she worked for her company from here in the US ~40days, remaining were vacations.

Does she need to fill in any taxes at all?

If yes, should we contact Sprintax to help?

Thakn you

Nonresident aliens are taxed on US source income.  Your wife has no income from a US source so she has no filing requirement.

Thanks Robert, really appreciate it.

That means that I should fill in as married filled in separately?

What's your advise here?

Thank you

You do not say whether you are a US citizen or resident. If so, you can file together. However you would have to include all your wife's income and get a ITIN for her.

See Nonresident Spouse

Otherwise file separately. You cannot file single if you were married on December 31.

TurboTax does prepare nonresident returns. As you mentioned previously you can contact Sprinitax.com.
