Jury Duty Pay / 1099-MISC

I received a 1099-MISC from the courts in regard to my Jury Duty pay for 2016. Should I enter the information in the "Misc Income section and enter in the details from the 1099-MISC, or enter in the section that says "Jury Duty Pay" put doesn't specify that I got a 1099-MISC?

See below.  The short answer:  enter the 1099-MISC in the "Jury Duty Pay" section.

The link no longer works, so not able to see details.

But, bottom line, is the answer still correct?

You are correct the link isn't working. Here are the instructions to enter Jury Duty pay in TurboTax:

Here's how to enter your jury duty pay in TurboTax:

  1. Navigate to the jury duty pay section:
    • TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to the jury duty pay screen under Wages & Income.
    • TurboTax Desktop:
      1. Go to Federal Taxes.
      2. Go to Wages & Income.
      3. If asked How do you want to enter…?, select I’ll choose what I work on.
      4. Under Less Common Income, select Start or Update next to Jury Duty.
  2. Follow the onscreen instructions.

What about mileage pay?

Don't enter your mileage reimbursement if you received it separately from your jury duty service payment.

If mileage is included in your pay (in other words, you received a single payment for jury duty and mileage), enter your total on the Jury duty pay screen.

Why was the OP instructed to enter 2016 income on a 2019 return? Shouldn't they have been advised to amend the 2016 return? Obviously the post is ancient and a moot point but this seems like an inaccurate response.

Are you going by the alleged date at the bottom of each comment?

6/01/2019 is the date TurboTax Community switched to this new forum.    All posts older than 6/01/2019 were given the date 6/01/2019.    I know it's odd.    But that's how they moved those thousands of threads to their new forum system.   So you can't go by a lot of threads that say June 2019.    It most likely was a post from 2017 about a 2016 return, but all those old threads got a 2019 date in the transition.   It used to be called "AnswerXchange."
