Where do I enter jury duty pay?
by TurboTax•46• Updated 3 months ago
Although it usually doesn't amount to much, jury duty pay is considered taxable income and should be reported on your tax return.
Some courts will mail you a 1099-G or 1099-MISC to report the payment, but many courts don't mail anything at all.
Here's how to enter your jury duty pay in TurboTax:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
- Search for jury duty pay (use this exact phrase), and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
- Follow the instructions on the Jury Duty Pay screen.
What about mileage pay?
Don't enter your mileage reimbursement if you received it separately from your jury duty service payment.
If mileage is included in your pay (in other words, you received a single payment for jury duty and mileage), enter your total on the Jury Duty Pay screen.
