IV been filling married with my girlfriend for the past 4 years we split up can I just file single now ??

Were you and your girlfriend actually married for the last 4 years?  The filing status that you choose has to be accurate.  In other words, if you weren't legally married, you should not have been filing as such.  AND you'll need to amend those tax returns to reflect that you were single if you were.

 

So if I'm understanding correctly, you aren't actually married.  If that's the case, please do file as SINGLE for 2019.  If, on the other hand, you WERE married and are not yet divorced, you have other options.  Please clarify your situation if that is the case.
