Yeah same here. It said I had $487 coming back. And after I e-filed and answered questions to the IRS to verify it was me it said pending and then it went thru. IRS accepted my information. And then it said my refund is $0 dollars!!!!! I do not know why. I do not owe back taxes or anything. Help someone

It depends.  If when you filed, your refund was showing as a $ amount, then after you filed, it was accepted as $0, the taxing entity may have offset your refund for past due income tax, child support, student loans, or some other obligation.

If this is the case, you should receive a letter from the government entity, explaining why you didn't get the refund.

If this happened with your Federal Refund you can get that information by checking the Where's My Refund page on IRS.gov.  Here is a link to that page:  Where's my Refund?

If it was a State Refund, you can check with the appropriate state agency. Here is a link to the State Department of Revenue:  How do I contact my State Department of Revenue?

I'm in the same situation! I don't owe any money in back taxes, child support, etc. and I got $0. It even said in Turbo Tax something to the effect of this doesn't happen often then told me I get $0 back. The odds of me getting the exact amount as what I paid during the year to the penny seems odd. Good thing I didn't hire someone to do my taxes since I'd then be out that amount. Now since I chose to pay gor e-filing with my refund amount do I have to pay for that $25?
