It's saying my date of birth doesn't match what the irs has on file

How do I find out what they have on file and amend that? I clearly know my birthdate but I can't e-file if it doesn't match what is on their record. Anyone else experiencing this?

The IRS gets it from Social Security.  So you need to check with SS.  Guess you have to print and mail it.

Your name, Social Security number and date of birth are all received by the IRS from the Social Security Administration.

Most likely, the IRS has the wrong date of birth on file. In this scenario, you won't be able to e-file because the date you're entering doesn't match their records.

  1. Select File in the left menu.
  2. Select Start next to Step 3: Get ready to file and save your returns.
  3. Select File by mail and follow the instructions to print and mail your return.

Tip: To prevent this rejection next year, call the Social Security Administration (SSA) at 1-800-772-1213 to verify their records (this is where the IRS database pulls from). If the info is wrong, please allow 4–6 weeks for correction.
