It's my first time submitting my expenses as an Independent Contractor. Will I have to mail in my travel log or should I just keep I put up somewhere safe?

No, you do not need to mail your travel log or any other receipts to the IRS with your tax return.

Keep all your business records in a safe place for at least three years, just in case the IRS asks for any information or clarification of your return.
