If you received income that was reported on a 1099 MISC in box 7, then you will be brought through these questions related to self-employment. Just answer the questions as they relate to your situation as they are required boxes on Schedule C. The income on box 7 from the 1099 MISC will be reported on Schedule C, which is the form for self-employment income, but any income received on an independent contractor or freelance type basis will be included on this form.
