issued a 1099 and W2 for same income?

My employer included my annual bonus in my W2 but also issued me a 1099NEC for the same bonus. I have asked them to void the 1099NEC as its already in my W2 and have not received any response from them. what should i do?

You can contact the IRS to contact your employer to request a corrected copy of your  W-2 or 1099-NEC.

Refer to the IRS article What to do when a W-2 or Form 1099 is missing or incorrect for more information.

It is possible he didn't file a copy of the voided form with the IRS. You can ask him for a copy of it as you need it to prove it was voided if the IRS asks about it. It will be marked Void or Corrected on the top of the form.

Keep a copy of the paystub that shows the bonus in case the IRS inquires about it, as support for it being reported twice.
