Isn’t turbo tax free?

I have finished my tax return and it is trying to charge me.

Yes, the Free Edition is free as long as you file a 1040EZ (or 1040A with the standard deduction) and don't select any add-ons or upgrades. Also, it looks like you are using Turbo Tax Deluxe, therefore, in order to file using the Free Edition, you will need to downgrade.

Here’s how to delete Premium Services from your purchase:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit Account, then select the Take Me To My Return button.
  2. Select File, which you'll find on the navigation bar on the left-hand side of your screen.
  3. Select Start next to Step 1 - Review your order.
  • If you don't see this, select Revisit next to You've chosen to deduct your TurboTax fees…When you get to your order summary, select Remove at the bottom of the Premium Services benefits section.

Check out this link to compare the different options TurboTax has for filing your taxes.

Actually there's a class action lawsuit going around right now because they've been tricking poor people into paying for their services when it's supposed to be free completely I myself have been duped in this scam because what they don't tell you is they won't start you with the free version and they make it sound like they're adding on fees which they're not supposed to do especially if you've made under $10,000 if they don't give me my money back for what I've spent on my returns I will be joining the class action lawsuit
