Is there any recourse if I was quarantined with Covid while out of the country and had to pay for it out pocket with NO reimbursement from anyone?

I was quarantined by a foreign country and not allowed to fly back to the US. All hotel costs, food and testing were out of my pocket.

No, there is no recourse or write-off available on your tax return for expenses you incurred due to being quarantined by a foreign country.

The only possible expense that may qualify as a deduction would be any medical costs you incurred, such as for testing.  Those could be included in the Medical Expenses section of your return.  If the total of all of your medical expenses exceeds 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income and you are using itemized deductions, then you would see a possible tax benefit.
