Is there a way to force Turbo Tax to accept a Payer's Federal Identification Number of 00-0000000? It is on my 1099-DIV and I can't get past the edit to efile.

I"ve tried to clear out 00-0000000 so it was blank and that didn't work. I also tried to change it to 99-9999999 which didn't work either.

Why is the EIN zeros?   Have you phoned the Payer for the EIN?

make up a TIN starting with 94, 20, 04, 47 or a TIN from a previous 1099-DIV.

You shouldn't need the EIN, just the payer's name and amount.  I would delete that 1099Div and enter it again.  In my Desktop Home & Business program it doesn't even have a box to let me enter the EIN.  Are you  trying to import it?  Skip Import or pick Enter a different way or Change How I enter my Form and enter it manually.

Evidently they don't have a Federal Identification Number as they are a foreign based company. I tried calling last year and they confirmed that it. So I just accepted it and mailed in my returns.

I might just give it a try

I had imported it, so I'll try deleting it and see what happens.

if issues then delete the entire imported 1099-div and enter manually. the IRS does not need and does not get the EIN number. also don't need address. only payer's name and the amounts.
