Is the W-2 supposed to count the last pay period in 2024 or is it for the last pay period?

W-2 only reports earnings through mid Dec. Do I need a corrected W-2?

In general, yes. Your W-2 should report income all wage income that was available to you through the end of the year. So, the last paycheck that was available to you to cash, even if you didn't cash it, should be reported on your W-2 for that year.

The W-2 form only shows money that was PAID in 2024. If you earned money in 2024, but it was not paid until 2025, that will be reported on your 2025 W-2.
