Is it too late to file an extension?

I tried to e-file my taxes last night and they were rejected because I don't have my IRS pin number. I will have to mail in my tax returns but they will be late can I still file? Or is it too late to file a tax extension?

You can file for an extension, but Monday was the last day to do it.

 

If you owe the IRS money, you still need to make a payment by midnight, either online or mail in a check and postmark it.

 

If you get a refund, then you don’t have to worry, however file as soon as possible.
