Is it safe to preview the "File Return / Print for Filing" final step without the file being altered?

(TT Deluxe Windows Desktop)

Is it possible to go through the "Print Return for Mailing" final step of the interview to see what the print preview looks like without the tax file permanently reflecting it has been printed for filing?  If the file is not saved will it be just as it was prior to entering Final Filing step - or will TT tag it with a status of "Printed for Filing" or alter it in some irreversible way?

Thanks.

You can, but if you haven't already pre-paid your TurboTax fees (if any), you'll be asked to pay before you can print. Select the first option, Print, save, or preview this year's return, and follow any additional instructions.
