Is it normal for my 2019 income to show up next to my 2020 income column while preparing a tax return for 2020?

Yes, it is normal to see 2019 income (and deduction) figures displayed in a column to the left of your 2020 income (and deduction) column.

These comparison columns serve a number of purposes. Displaying 2019 figure next to 2020 figures can alert you to potential errors, i.e. you may have missed a 2020 income or deduction item that you took in 2019. Another reason is just to show you how your 2020 tax figures have changed from 2019 - a sort of measuring tape for your financial & tax situation.
