Is it important to change filing status?

I am divorced and claiming my child on my tax return this year. I have IRS form 8332 signed from former spouse as well. I accidentally marked my federal return status as "Married. Filing Separately". I didn't take any credits from being married except for claiming my child, which I'm entitled to this year anyways. I've electronically submitted my federal return and it was accepted. My question is: Do I need to file amendment to this return with a filing status "Single" instead of "Married. Filing Separately" or I can keep it as is? Thanks.

An amended return is required if there is a change in filing status.
