I would like to live in Latvia with my boyfriend, however, having a job in the US would be great because it would be less of a language barrier and prices there are cheaper. But I have also been told that companies in the US wouldn't hire someone living abroad because it'd be more complicated/cost them money.
There is not a simple answer to this question. If you are are a US Citizen, living abroad for a a couple of weeks as if you are on vacation and working remotely from a US based company, you would file a form 1040 just as if you lived in the US.
If you are not a US Citizen or are living permanently in another country, then you may need to file a 1040NR, depending on the situation or you may not need to file a US return at all.
If you are trying to plan this out based on taxes, you should find a tax person who specializes in your situation as there are a multitude of factors to consider as well as a tax person in the country you are going to live in.
