I called the number, used the phrase "info sharing", it still won't let me proceed!
Can you tell us what part of the interview you are in when you see this question about if you are preparing this return for a child? Are you in the My Info section, Wages & Income section, Deductions & Credits section, or where?
Also, what is the heading at the top of the screen?
Do you know how to take a screen shot of your computer? If you can, you can post a reply and attach the screenshot by clicking the camera icon on the toolbar above the text box ("insert photo"). You may have to click another triangle icon to expand the toolbar to see the camera icon.
I don't understand where you are in the program, and can't think of any reason Turbotax would need you to call them before you can work on your return. Are you sure you are on the real Turbotax web site? The address should be "intuit.com" and there should be a padlock icon next to the address in your browser's address window. A screenshot will help us know where you are and where the message is coming from.
Is asking if I am preparing this return for a child. I am not but choosing No it tells me to call xxx-xxx-xxxx and mention the phrase "info sharing." Why?

What tax preparation software are you using? It is not one of the TurboTax US editions.
Are you preparing a Canadian tax return?
If so -
This is the TurboTax US user community website.
Go to this TurboTax Canada website for assistance with a Canadian tax return or the TurboTax Canada editions - https://turbotax.community.intuit.ca/community/turbotax-support/help/03/en-ca
I am in my info. Top of page says Your spouse's info.
Make sure you have entered the Correct Birth Date for your Spouse in the My Info section.
This link gives info on How to Edit Spouse Info.
I am in the spouse info section. Asking if I am preparing this for a child. I answered no. Told to call xxx.
You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

We have no idea where this is coming from. Are you sure you are using Turbotax for US, and not Canada?
Can you take a screenshot of the warning page and post the image here as an attachment?
Assuming this is a US tax issue, double check your own birthdate and your spouse's birthdate. If you have the wrong birthdate, turbotax might think you are preparing a tax return for a minor child.

If you are under 18 and sign on behalf of your child, the IRS will not be able to give you information and the return is not valid.
From the IRS: "If a child can’t file his or her own return for any reason, such as age, the child's parent, guardian, or other legally responsible person must file it for the child.
A parent or guardian who signs a return on a child's behalf can deal with the IRS on all matters connected with the return. In general, a parent or guardian who doesn’t sign the child's return can only provide information concerning the child's return and pay the child's tax. That parent or guardian isn’t entitled to receive information from the IRS or legally bind the child to a tax liability arising from the return."
This doesn't make sense.
This is the full IRS quote
Generally, a child is responsible for filing his or her own tax return and for paying any tax, penalties, or interest on that return. If a child can’t file his or her own return for any reason, such as age, the child's parent, guardian, or other legally responsible person must file it for the child.
Signing the child's return.
If the child can’t sign his or her return, a parent or guardian must sign the child's name followed by the words "By (signature), parent (or guardian) for minor child."
Authority of parent or guardian.
A parent or guardian who signs a return on a child's behalf can deal with the IRS on all matters connected with the return.
In general, a parent or guardian who doesn’t sign the child's return can only provide information concerning the child's return and pay the child's tax. That parent or guardian isn’t entitled to receive information from the IRS or legally bind the child to a tax liability arising from the return.
And lastly, nothing here has anything to do with why these taxpayers are being told to call a phone number to file a return for their child.
How do I continue when I replayed no to filing for a child. I call the 888 number and still can’t proceed
I had the same message - it asks this question based on the birthdate entered (anything between now & 2003 I think, and I'd accidentally entered 2018, somehow) so double check the one listed in your info~
I called the number and go this link but it won't let me continue.
Thank you, I did the same thing. They don't like underage brides I guess. Lol.
Why when clicking No, because I am not preparing for a child, am I not allowed to move forward.?
This typically happens if there is a date of birth for the primary taxpayer (or spouse, when filing jointly) under the age of 17. Often, this is simply a typo
Please return to the My Info section and re-check the birthday entries to see if this applies in your case. If it does not, please let us know and we can troubleshoot further.
I answered no. Called & said info sharing. I am in the Your personal info. By clicking no I am not allowed to continue. Do I just click yes even though it should be no.
No. Return to the personal information for the return. See:
Then, select Edit by your name and check what birth date are entered. Then, select Edit by your spouse's name and check what birth date has been entered.
