IRS Tax Return Rejection Code IND-116-02

My oldest child turned 18 - do I remove him from My Info or is there some other way to make him not a dependent??

Why can't you claim him?  If he is under 19 or a full time student under 24 you can still claim him. Did he file a return and claim himself?  He will have to amend and you will have to mail your return this year.

Who can I claim as a dependent?

1) I love Volvo - have a 2018 XC60 and I love it.

2) I don't know - I went back into "My Info" and redid all three kids' fields - it didn't prompt me to do this the first time through so maybe I skipped it and it had a couple of questions that were new in 2023 so I am wondering if that negated them from being valid dependents this year - just submitted it again (3rd time) so hopefully it works - and the "revisit" wasn't doing anything so definitely quirky code.

Here is the description of the error - it's giving my 18 yr old the Child Tax Credit when I think it shouldn't and then it should give him "Credit for Other Dependents" which I can see on the final form output but I cannot get TurboTax to move it over.

"Each dependent in 'DependentDetail' on the return with 'EligibleForChildTaxCreditInd' checked must be under the age of 17. You may be eligible to claim the "Credit for other dependents" if you meet the requirements for the credit."
