IRS Free File Edition - Import Prior Years Data And Carryovers?

Hello,

I qualify for and plan to use the IRS Free File product this year however, I need help getting started.

Last year I used TT Premier desktop product so have a boatload of data that I would like to import. This data also contains foreign tax credit carryovers and possibly capital gains and losses carryovers.

Can anyone point me to the specific steps that I need to take to import this data?  I have already started entering this year's data into the IRS Free File Edition which I would like to keep but wouldn't loose too much sleep if I have to start over.

Thanks,

Steve

that's how they lock you in  -- with important historical records from prior returns.

That is not an answer. Do you even understand the question?

Hello,

Since no one seems to be able to answer this question... It is a software/program question and NOT a tax question.

Can anyone recommend a good way to access Intuit/TurboTax tech support for their tax programs? So far I have found that they don't answer the phone and don't appear to monitor these forums.

Thanks,

Steve

There is no saved data from year over year on the free platform  and there is no means to import data from the paid TurboTax platforms to the IRS free platform.
