Ip pin of 2022

Do we put the 2021 ip pin for this year are 2022 ip pin for tax return 2022 ? I use my 2022 I never had a ip pin into I get on by accident hit the IP pin button thinking it was gone walk me though the step of putting my son information in there but had my information in there from off my ID me account...? What do I need to do if I don't have my pin for this year

There are several kinds of pins. I think you mean a federal identity protection pin, the 2nd option.

Choose which PIN and see the article related:

If you mean the filing pin from last year, you can use your AGI instead. How do I find last year’s AGI?
If you mean the IP PIN for identity protection, you lost or never got your CP01A letter, retrieve your IP PIN online at the IRS's Get an IP PIN website.

If you mean the IL PIN:

If you live in IL, you MUST get an IL PIN from the state department.

If you don’t know your Illinois PIN you can:

look it up on Illinois’ website, IL-PIN Inquiry - Illinois.gov or

by calling (800) 732-8866 or (217) 782-3336.
