interest reported in form 8938 as part of foreign bank account is not reflected in form 1040.

as part of form 8939, I am supposed to indicated where this interest reported. I followed the instruction provided by the tool to complete my tax return and then preview the tax form to find out where this interest is reported. However, no where in 1040 form I see anything related to the interest reported in for 8389. my online search led me believe that it should be schedule 1 or schedule B but I cannot find the interest reported in 8938 anywhere in my 1040 and schedule B is not even generated.

Can you please advise.

There is not a special entry for Foreign Interest.  Instead, report as you would other interest.  To do so, while logged in and in your return:

  • Type Interest into Search
  • Click on "Jump to interest"
  • Click on "I'll Type it in Myself"
  • Fill out the appropriate boxes and hit Enter

On Form 8389, indicate that the interest is reported on Schedule B or and is included in amount on Line 2b. of Form 1040.

Thank you for your response. Can you please let me know how I could actually view the form 8938. I do not see it included in my final tax preview?

You can either print or view all of your tax forms before filing, but you will first have to pay for your return.  Follow these steps to pay for your return before filing.  You will also be able to print a preliminary copy of your return in TuboTax Online:

  • click on "Tax Tools" on the left hand side of your screen.
  • From the drop down menu click on "Print Center"
  • Click on "Print, save or preview" this year's return
  • On the next screen click on "Pay Now"
  • Submit your payment information and you will be able to print your 2015 tax returns

Note, you must pay by credit card.  You will not be able to pay using your federal tax return.
