Instructions say to type "injured spouse" into search box and then select "jump to" but there is no "jump to" to select.

All that comes up is the instructions saying to click the "jump to" which is not actually there when you follow the instructions.

Let's try a different way to get there.

Go to:

  1. Other tax situations at the top of your screen
  2. Select Other Tax Forms > Show More
  3. Select Report an injured or innocent spouse claim > Start/Revisit

A second alternative is

  1. On the menu bar on the left that shows.
    1. My Info
    2. Federal
    3. State
    4. Review
    5. File
  2. Select Tax Tools
  3. On the drop-down select Tools
  4. There will be 4 green boxes
  5. Select Tax Topics
  6. Type innocent spouse

Thank you for the reply! After posting this question I realized that maybe I needed to interact with the return to make sure it was actually open. Sure enough, after I clicked through some buttons and then tried the "injured spouse" in the search box the "jump to..." option appeared.

Maybe this will help someone else if they have the same issue.

After this I had the problem where it added 8857 in addition to 8837, which I then had to figure out how to delete before I could file. I ended up having to go into that Tax tools option and delete it from there.
