went into windows settings then apps then installed apps then scroll down to
microsoft visual c++ 2015-2022 redistributable(x64) - 14.40.33810 then click on the 3 dots
then MODIFY. did the same for microsoft visual c++ 2015-2022 redistributable(x86) - 14.40.33810 just in case. rebooted windows when finished
ran installation again and it then finished and program is now working.

I noticed the most recent version of the TTX installation program (downloaded yesterday, 3 Jan 2025, directly from TTX).......it automatically installed the C++ version it needed on both of my Windows computers (Desktop & laptop) as a part of the installation.
So perhaps they realized the issue, and added it to their installation setup.
Of course, if you happen to be working with an older TTX installation file, it might not be in it
purchased/downloaded/installed 12 hours ago from a large online retailer. maybe that copy is "old".
(I did not monitor where the software was actually downloaded from.)
went thru the Intuit troubleshooting steps with no success.
sfc /scannow and dism reported no problems.
80+ games had no issues with my copy of vc redist 2015.
12 hrs later, investigated further, saw the many MSVCP140.dll errors
so tried the repair of both x86 and x64 versions.
the windows repair DID have a problem with x64 copy.
windows repaired it with its version and the program now works.
(do not know about the 80+games)
