Installed & activated TT 2024 desktop in Nov. Installed updates today, and activation process re-started and hangs. Can't being up TT at all now. What's going on?

Why is TT re-asking for activation, then not completing the process? The activation window is up, it reports my account has the correct license code (1/5 Active). The Activate button is greyed out, and my only options are to close the window or Sign out. I've tried both choices, and get stuck in the same place when I try to bring up TT again.

Maybe this will help someone...  I updated the Visual C++ library to the latest version; no change.  I tried starting TT versions from 2018 to 2023 and let them update files.  2019-2023 wanted to re-activate, which were ignored.  I uninstalled the 2024 version, rebooted, and re-installed the 2024 version.  When started, it wanted to update files (allowed), then wanted to Activate again, while still showing the existing, correct key.  I tried the Add Another Key option and re-entered the SAME EXACT KEY via copy/paste, and that was accepted.  I didn't catch if that was counted as a second installation.  I started to work on my return, and still, several areas aren't usable.  The message indicated they would be ready 12/22/2024, so we'll see.
