If you are not using the filing status of Married Filing Separate, uncheck the box.

I tried that several times before contacting you. The system was not letting me uncheck the box.

same here. you cant uncheck the box no matter what

Try going through the "Step-by-Step" interview in the "Personal Info" section to change the status.  

There is no option in the personal info section to change this.

@Luna1017 This thread has had no activity for nearly three years.  Could you please provide some details about the problem you are having now in 2023?

Information worksheet: MFS TP/SP Take Std Deduction should not be checked if filing status is not Married, filing separate, cannot pass this screen.

It seems my only option is to file by mail at this point. The box they want me to uncheck does not allow me to uncheck it.

I realize this is an old question, but it continues to happen in 2023. I was able to fix this issue by deleting the state return entirely and re-entering the state information.
