Indiana IT-40 Federal AGI line1

What input goes here if you worked in two states, the total AGI for both or just for Indiana. On my Kentucky 740-NP form it has a separate line (9) for KY AGI but Indiana doesn't have a line for separate state incomes? TurboTax auto filled in the total for both states & already filed.

To help answer your questions, we need a little more information:

- Of which state(s) were you a resident in 2024?

- Were you a full year resident or part year resident of Kentucky or Indiana?

- If a part year resident of each state, did you work in one state while living in the other state?

Full time resident in Indiana, worked there1/4 year, then received employment in KY for remainder of 2024. Always lived in Indiana, never Kentucky. TY

Since you were a full year resident of Indiana, all of your income is taxable to Indiana - regardless of where it was earned. Your Indiana income should essentially match your federal income.

Indiana has tax reciprocity with Kentucky, so you should not need to pay any tax to the state of Kentucky. You should only be filing in Kentucky to get a refund of any tax that was withheld. Your Kentucky income should be $0.
