Are you reporting advance payments for the Child Tax Credits? TurboTax will create Schedule 8812 to determine how advance payments are treated in your tax return.
Report the Advance Child Tax Credit payments received under Federal / Deductions & Credits / Your tax breaks / Advance payments, Child and Other Dependent Tax Credits.
See this TurboTax Help.
A Schedule 8812 appeared in my tax return and I don't have children and never fill out information for it. I tried to delete it from the Form section but I won't go away. How do I get rid of it?

Everyone is being asked this question since TurboTax does not know if the user was one who received these advances from the IRS in 2021.
Enter a 0 (zero) when asked to enter a number on the Schedule 8812. This will correct the issue and remove the Schedule 8812 from your tax return so that you can file the return.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I would still be sitting at my computer trying to figure this out myself.
I want to know what is this deduction. I do not have children and would like to take it out of my return. Can anyone give me some hints?
You can try deleing the form 8812.
A simple way to delete forms in TurboTax online is to use the Tax Tools menu option, which is on your left menu bar when you are working in your program. Then, choose Tools and then Delete a form.
If you are working in the download TurboTax program, use the Forms Mode on your menu bar to bring up the form you want to delete, then choose the Delete Form option at the bottom of the form.

This is a confusing question and should not be asked unless our tax return includes Schedule 8812. This question on advanced payments is definitely not a question for everyone.
How do I get rid of this schedule 8812? I do not have any children nor did I answer any questions regarding advance payment for child credit.

Given how many different times this question has been asked, and the confusion it is causing for people who do not have any children, it would really be nice if TurboTax could explain what is being explained over and over in these forums at the point where the question is asked instead of popping up a random form that appears to make no sense for those of us without dependents. ... just saying ...
BTW, I am using the CD version if that makes any difference.
How do I delete Schedule 8812, It doesn't apply to me?

Thanks for sharing the insight.
In my day (aka 'back in...') these were often referred to as MFU (massive...).
Advance payment - I don't know what it is, how could I get rid of it?
Per IRS: Under the American Rescue Plan of 2021, advance payments of up to half the 2021 Child Tax Credit were sent to eligible taxpayers.
If you received advance payments, you can claim the rest of the Child Tax Credit, if eligible, when you file your 2021 tax return.
If that does not apply to you,
Then check if Schedule 8812 is still showing on your return and delete it:
TT doesn't know if this form is required or not? If a taxpayer has no children listed as dependents it should not be shown. In our case we are in our 70's, married and with no children. Yet we see this form on TT for our return. In the unusual situation where a parent has an agreement with an ex-spouse but does not show any children as dependents, this form can be added by TT if the parent answers that they have such an agreement.
Why schedule 8812? Have tried entering 0 and this does not clear it!!!
Since the 8812 does not apply to you, delete it. With no children, you would not have advance child tax credit. Choose your method of deletion:
Since so many of us are flummoxed by this and have no use (no young children), TT should give an explanation with the question and spare us all some time.
I did not use 8812. I have no children and did not receive payment!
In 2021, everyone is being asked to confirm that they did not receive any Advanced Child Tax Credit payments even if they are not claiming any children on their return. To confirm you did not receive any advance payments:
