Gross Income Tax Depreciation Adjustment Worksheet GIT-DEP

NJ doesn't comply with the fed depreciation rules so the figures need to be adjusted.

is this usually required. I am not sure why I need this?

I was also told I need this before my NJ state forms will be filed. Yet, I have no idea why I need this or why it is populating. I did itemized deductions this year. But I am not a small business owner. Could this be the reason for this form? I have used TurboTax for 10 years for fed and state and have never seen this form before.

@Caidyn24@willywally1 It depends. That is form GIT-DEP has to do with NJ depreciation. To clarify, do you claim or have you claimed depreciable assets in the past either business assets or rental properties?  If not, try to delete the form(If you are the online version by going to:

  • Tool>tax tools
  • delete a form
  • Look in your New Jersey Forms and delete any reference to GIT-DEP, including the worksheets.

If in the software version, go to the forms mode in your program. Locate any forms in your New Jersey form that reference GIT-DEP, including the worksheets.

Why is this form not available in Turbo Tax?  It is available on the New Jersey tax web site for 2021, yet it is not yet available to use on Turbo Tax.  There appears to be a glitch in their software, and I have called 2 times to report the issue.  Still not resolved.

Turbo Tax has to format the form into Turbo Tax once the state makes the form available.

I can't see the response you are speaking to.  I've also spoken to several agents at TT and they have not been able to help. What did you do to bypass this form?
