In Form 1099-INT, Box 16 has 17 characters (15 digits and 2 hyphens (-). I imported the form, TT tells me that this field allows a max of 14 chars. What should I do?

The IRS and state track the payer on Form 1099-DIV by the payer's Tax Identification Number TIN.  The state identification number in box 16 is not required to file your tax return.  However, TurboTax requires an entry to continue with your tax preparation.  You will just enter the first 14 digits of your state TIN this will allow you to continue with your tax return.
