In CA when filing an extension using Turbo Tax does this cover both Federal and State?

California (CA) automatically grants a 6-month extension to October 15. If you owe them taxes, submit payment by April 15 to avoid penalties. Here are 3 payment options:

  1. Print and mail Form FTB 3519 along with your check payment
  2. Pay online at their Web Pay site
  3. Put it on your credit card

What if you don't have the money to pay at that time? I thought that would be the main reason why someone files for an extension.

Sometimes people extend if they do not have all of their records quite in order. You can try to get a payment plan from the state of California here: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.ftb.ca.gov/online/eia/index.asp">https://www.ftb.ca.gov/online/eia/index.asp</a>
