In Box 'd' Control Number placed the number 20 and the system will not accept this number. Why is this?

A control number in box d is not required to e-file a tax return.  Leave the box d blank (empty).  After trying this and you are still getting an error, delete the W-2 and re-enter manually to clear the error.
