import last years tax file

I have tried several times to import 2022 taxes into 2023 tax program. Ive never had this issue in the last 20 years.  However, I keep getting this message saying that it cannot fine the return due to some issue with the program? where it can not find the file using some strange program/

What do I do now?

Thanks

TurboTax tax data files are not imported.  The prior year tax data file is transferred to the current tax year when a New current year tax year is started.

TurboTax stores, by default, all saved tax data files and saved PDFs in the TurboTax folder within the Documents directory, unless the default location is changed by the user.

On my Windows based PC using the TurboTax desktop editions for the past six years on this particular PC, all my tax data files and PDFs are in the TurboTax folder for every tax year.

I am having the same problem.  I point TurboTax to the file I want to input data from, but it does not bring it in, it just opens a blank file and wants me to start entering data.  What do I do now?

You could open TurboTax 2022 on your computer, and open your 2022 return.

Save the return under a different name to your desktop.  Try transferring that file into your 2023 TurboTax.

Here's more info about Transferring a Prior Year Return.
