im trying to add dependants to my account. It goes back to the personal profile page and it does not allow me to add them. It only allows me to see completed info on me.

You do not add dependents to your online account.   You add them to your tax return in MY INFO.

If you are using TurboTax Online you can go to "My Info" in your left panel of your screen.  Under "Your Household" your should be able to add your dependent.

 

If you have TurboTax Desktop, you will click on your  "Personal Info" tab, select "Continue", scroll down to "Dependents" and click on "Edit."

I’ve tried the above steps and the option is

not available unless, this is only allowed using a specific product/browser/download? A laptop is being used to process, using turbo tax online. I’m I using the incorrect option?

You can add dependents in all desktop programs and all online versions.  Have you already filed your tax return?  Maybe you need to amend your return to add them.    

 

If you haven't filed yet, are you inside your tax return?  If you are using the Online browser version click on Add a State to let you back into your return.
